THE MARY KAY FOUNDATION(sm) AWARDS SEEKHAVEN $20,000 GRANT

Moab, Utah September 26th 2012- Seekhaven Family Crisis & Resource Center, a local women’s shelter serving Moab, Utah received a $20,000 grant from The Mary Kay FoundationSM. In observation of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, The Mary Kay FoundationSM awards $20,000 grants to more than 150 domestic violence shelters across the country for a total of $3 million.

It'll be a wild ride--run with your best friend, your mom, your daughter or new friends through the intense, gorgeous landscape of the outlaw heroines' journey. The inaugural Thelma & Lousie Half Marathon will inspire, challenge...and give back. Main beneficiaries will be Girls On The Run, a program to develop confidence and positive self-image in pre-teen girls through running; and Seekhaven Family Crisis Center in Moab, providing services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Volunteer of the Month

Debbie Sims of Moab is this month's Volunteer of the Month! Debbie has been a great help to Seekhaven in a variety ways. She has dedicated many hours in both the office and the shelter cleaning, organzing, and helping with outreach. She also was a committed volunteer during our busy fundraising time and carried out many responsibities for Puttin' on the Ritz. Thank you so much Debbie!!
